Gas and Electric Service Territory- PECO is Pennsylvania’s largest utility, operating and maintaining a network of 550 power substations, 21,000 miles of distribution and transmission lines, 27 gas gate stations and 6,000 miles of underground gas mains.  

The company serves approximately 1.6 million electric customers in the City of Philadelphia and its Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery County suburbs. PECO’s suburban gas business serves 474,000 natural gas customers.

Applications for Electric and Gas Services- Applications for service should be completed as early as possible, prior making any changes on electric or gas equipment and as soon as possible in the new construction process.

System Upgrades and Corporate Citizenship-PECO is dedicated to keeping the lights on and the gas flowing. Every year we invest a substantial amount of resources in maintaining and enhancing our systems.  Major projects include: customer-targeted reliability enhancement work, increased automation to reduce outage duration, preventive maintenance including circuit patrols using infrared imaging and rights-of-way tree trimming, and lightning arrestors/ animal guards to help prevent weather and animal-related outages.
