LIHEAP Program Dates:

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federal program that provides financial heating assistance to qualified households in the form of a CASH or CRISIS grant. The assistance is available to help customers that are at/below 150% of the federal poverty income guidelines and demonstrate a heating burden.
The CASH grant is a one-time direct payment sent to your utility or fuel provider like PECO to be credited to your bill. The CRISIS grant is a direct payment for households experiencing a heating emergency. Emergency situations include: main heating source has been shut-off or within 15 days of being shut-off for non-payment, fuel payments, repairing leaking pipes and broken furnaces. All requests for a crisis grant must be made by the customer to the local county assistance office.
Homeowners, renters, roomers, and subsidized housing tenants may be eligible. Last year LIHEAP helped approximately 58,000 PECO customers totaling more than $45 million in assistance.
There are several ways to apply for LIHEAP:
After your application is reviewed, you will receive a written notice explaining your eligibility and the amount of assistance you will receive. Please allow 30 days for a response. Sending multiple applications can cause a delay in you receiving your grant.
If you have questions about an application that you completed and submitted, please contact your local county assistance office, or call 1-866-857-7095.
