PHILADELPHIA (February 17, 2020) – PECO announced today that Mayra Bergman has joined PECO as vice president of Communications. Bergman will be part of PECO's senior leadership team and will support its strategic initiatives through effective communications. Bergman succeeds Doug Oliver, who recently became PECO's vice president of Governmental & External Affairs.
Bergman will lead the development and execution of strategic communications programs, including internal and external communications, media relations, social media and advertising, to enhance PECO's reputation and support its business objectives.
"Mayra brings a wealth of experience to this role and we're excited to have a proven leader like her join PECO," said Liz Murphy, PECO senior vice president of Regulatory & External Affairs. "In this position, Mayra will execute strategic communications for the company, and will further underscore how our work positively impacts the customers and communities we serve."
A seasoned communications leader with more than 20 years of experience, Bergman recently led enterprise communications for Lockheed Martin's $16 billion rotary and mission systems business and held several other strategic communications roles at the company. Before that, she served in communications leadership positions at Campbell Soup Company, GE Energy, Aga Foodservice Equipment and Ford Motor Company.
Bergman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico, and an MBA from Rutgers University. She also serves on the board of trustees for Allies in Caring and volunteers at the Food Bank of South Jersey. During her time with Lockheed Martin, she also served as executive champion for the company's Hispanic Employee Resource Group.
