More Rebates and Incentives for PECO Customers in New Phase of Energy Efficiency Programs

PHILADELPHIA (July 1, 2021) – This month, PECO launches the next phase of the company's energy efficiency programs, offering residential and business customers ways to earn rebates and incentives, while lowering electricity bills and reducing their carbon footprint.

Since the inception of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation program, established in 2009 by PA Act 129, PECO customers have earned approximately $365 million in rebates and incentives.  Customers have also saved more than 4,230,075 MWh of electricity, the equivalent of powering more than 506,000 homes for a full year.

"Through our energy efficiency programs, PECO will continue to provide incentives, meaningful customer savings and comprehensive energy solutions," said Doug Oliver, PECO Vice President, Government and External Affairs.  "These programs provide opportunities for all customers to lower electric bills and reduce their carbon footprint – from homeowners to renters, to large and small businesses, and to those with limited incomes."

Even during the pandemic challenges of 2020, the company continued to help customers save energy and money by offering virtual energy assessments, contactless pick-up of refrigerators for recycling, and safely mailing more than 32,000 self-install energy saving kits to low-income customers.

In addition to energy assessments and recycling, the new phase continues to offer residential customers rebates on their purchase of ENERGY STAR® certified appliances and HVAC systems, with instant rebates available on items purchased through the PECO Marketplace.  Commercial customers can receive instant discounts on their lighting purchases through approved distributors and apply for incentives for the installation of high-efficiency equipment.  Small business owners can take advantage of an energy analysis to identify ways they can save.
