Company provides EV tools and rebates for customers to go electric
PHILADELPHIA, (September 26, 2022) This week PECO is celebrating National Drive Electric Week, an annual event spanning over a decade that raises awareness of the many benefits of electric vehicles (EVs). In honor of this week, PECO is educating customers on the financial, environmental, and health benefits of owning an EV, as well as the different PECO programs available in the Greater Philadelphia region that support clean electric transportation.
PECO is a strong advocate for the adoption of EVs. The company currently operates approximately 100 plug-in vehicles and plans to increase that number to almost 300 by 2024. Electrifying the company's vehicle fleet is a major component of PECO's Path to Clean initiative, which includes cutting operations-driven emissions in half by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
To support customers and communities in reaching their clean energy goals, PECO offers its EVsmart Program. This resource features an interactive online EV toolkit that allows customers to calculate the savings potential of owning an EV based on personal commuting patterns, research EV and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) options, calculate carbon reduction for environmental savings, discover special incentives and promotions (including the PECO Driver Rebate), and much more.
PECO continues to see strong interest in the company's Level 2 (L2) Commercial Electric Vehicle Charging Pilot rebate program, which launched this spring as part of $1.5 million in EV charging infrastructure incentives to support commercial, industrial, and public transit customers interested in clean transportation options. The rebate will offset the cost of installing EV charging infrastructure at locations including workplaces, retail businesses, public charging areas, and multi-unit dwellings.
Supporting clean electric transportation is critical to reducing carbon emissions and bringing cleaner air to communities in the Greater Philadelphia region. Additional information about electric vehicles, the L2 Commercial EV Charging Pilot, and PECO's other EV-related programs is available at www.peco.com/ev.
