PHILADELPHIA (March 15, 2017) -- PECO crews are answering the call for help, coming to the aid of Exelon sister utilities in New Jersey and Delaware. More than 150 employees and contractors will help restore electric service to customers impacted by winter storm Stella.
As part of PECO’s support, 50 contractors were sent on Tuesday to support Atlantic City Electric restoration efforts in New Jersey. An additional 50 contractors joined to support early Wednesday morning. In addition, 20 PECO employees and an additional 22 PECO contractors will support restoration efforts at Delmarva Power in Delaware and Atlantic City Electric in New Jersey.
In addition to PECO, crews from Exelon’s BGE, ComEd, and Pepco utilities are assisting Delmarva Power and Atlantic City Electric, which experienced damage resulting from the storm’s band of freezing rain and high winds.
With six utilities – Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco – PECO’s response is a direct benefit of being part of the Exelon family of companies. Over the years, PECO has sent hundreds of crews and support personnel to assist utilities, in our region and across the country, as part of regional assistance networks. Just as PECO provides support, crews from throughout the U.S. have helped with restoration efforts in this region following severe storms.
