PECO Expands Incentives for Electric Vehicle Shoppers

Company joins Nissan to provide thousands in discounts to electric vehicles

PHILADELPHIA (May 15, 2018) – Nissan is offering PECO customers a special incentive that can save thousands of dollars on the cost of certain all-electric vehicle (EV) models. In addition to the Nissan incentive, customers could also qualify for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits.

This offering is yet another of PECO's efforts to provide new and innovative services and options for customers across Southeastern Pennsylvania.

"Electric vehicles are a key factor in our Advancing Smart Energy legislative and regulatory initiatives to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future," said Dick Webster, PECO's vice president of regulatory policy and strategy. "This provides a great opportunity for PECO customers to make the switch and gain the benefits of driving electric."

Nissan is offering PECO customers a $3,000 rebate off the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on the 2018 LEAF, which starts at $29,990. This offer is available from Nissan North America Inc., through June 30, 2018, or while supplies last. To qualify for the savings, customers must bring a copy of this flyer and show their PECO utility bill to participating Nissan dealerships.

As part of its Advancing Smart Energy initiative, the company is supporting legislation that would enable it to implement a package of innovative programs and initiatives that will provide more choices, enhance service reliability, and provide more customized energy solutions for its customers. This includes supporting Pennsylvania House Bill 1446, which was developed in conjunction with a broad range of stakeholders, including transportation experts, environmental groups, transit agencies and industry leaders, to advance clean transportation in Pennsylvania.
