Income-Qualified Customers Can Get FREE Energy-Saving Upgrades

At PECO, safety is our top priority. As part of our commitment to safety, we’re closely monitoring developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and taking appropriate precautions to protect the health and safety of our customers, contractors and employees.

Currently, we’re offering income-qualified customers a choice of one of three ways to save with FREE energy-efficiency upgrades.

1. Schedule a FREE Virtual Energy Checkup.

After you book an appointment,* you’ll answer a few questions about your home. On the day of your appointment, you’ll use video chat on your Wi-Fi-enabled smartphone or tablet to show a PECO energy advisor around your home. They’ll point out ways to help you save energy and money—all in under an hour.

Here’s what you can get with a FREE Virtual Energy Checkup:

  • A virtual visit from a PECO energy advisor, who will show you ways to save energy and money
  • A personalized report with recommendations for improving your home’s energy efficiency and an evaluation of major appliances like your refrigerator
  • A pack of FREE energy-saving items (such as LED light bulbs and a smart power strip) based on your home’s specific needs, sent to you after the checkup is complete

2. Order a FREE Energy-Saving Kit.

Get a variety of products designed to help you save energy and money, such as:

  • Dimmable candelabra-style LED bulbs
  • Water-saving faucet aerators
  • Low-flow showerhead
  • A smart power strip
  • LED night lights

Request a kit online or call 1-855-270-7327 to request your FREE Energy-Saving Kit. Once you place your order and we verify your eligibility, your kit will be shipped to you within two weeks. Kit components may vary.

3. Join our waiting list for an In-home Energy Checkup.

Call 1-855-270-7327 to request your FREE In-Home Energy Checkup. Once you submit your request and we verify your eligibility, we will contact you when we resume in-home visits. Our energy advisors will follow CDC guidelines, wear masks and gloves, and maintain social distancing throughout the in-home visit. However, we recommend you also wear a mask during the checkup as an additional safety measure.

You may qualify if you answer “yes” to these questions:

  1. Are you a PECO residential electric customer who personally receives an electric bill?
  2. Is your monthly household income at or below the amounts listed in the chart below?
  3. Do you have permission to make energy-saving upgrades at your residence?
    (Renters must have landlord’s permission to participate.)
  4. Has it been at least two years since you’ve received a free kit or a free in-home energy checkup?

If you answered “yes” to all four questions, call 1-855-270-7327 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to confirm your eligibility and to schedule your PECO Virtual Energy Checkup, reserve a spot on the waitlist for an in-home checkup, or request your FREE Energy-Saving Kit.
